Thank you so much to all the customers who have been painting pottery at home throughout lock down.  I am thrilled now to be able to welcome you all back into the studio. We will continue to offer take-away kits for you if you prefer to paint at home.

For the benefit of all our customers and staff, we have made adaptations to Salt Pots, to keep us all safe while we enjoy pottery painting and creating unique and beautiful keepsakes.  Please take time to read the information below so that you know what to expect when visit our studio.  Thank you.

Tables of up to 6 people are available for 1 or 2 households sitting together.  Please ensure on booking that this is the case. Larger groups must book separate tables.

Customers will be required to wear masks in the studio, except for children aged 11 and under.  If you are uncomfortable wearing a mask, please do make use of our take-away offering and paint at home then bring it back for us to glaze and fire.

Hand sanitiser is available as you enter the studio, on each table, and outside the bathroom.  Please make use of it in all locations to prevent potential transfer of the virus.  Thank you.

We have reconfigured the studio layout our way of working. The tables in the party room are now arranged to be socially distant and will be in use for pottery painting.  The main studio will have 2 tables available, mainly for taking baby prints, clay imprints, silver jewellery and outprints.

For the present we will be working on a Bookings Only basis with all arrivals staggered so that only one table will be walking and choosing in the studio at a time.  We encourage you to choose, and even buy, if you like, your pottery from the website prior to your visit in which case we will have it ready on your table before you arrive.  Otherwise you will choose your pottery on arrival and then be shown to your table.  We will wipe down your pottery and bring it to the table, along with everything you need to paint.  Unlike before, we won’t be talking you through the process of painting, but we will give you full written instructions either to refresh your memory or help you get started for the first time painting pottery.

We will take your temperature contactlessly on entry, and where possible you will deal only with one member of staff throughout your stay.  We have streamlined our service so that we can minimise the contacts and movements around the studio.  This includes taking payment at the table at the start of your session (unless you have already bought your pottery online).

To assist the NHS Track and Trace we will be keeping the contact details of the person booking the table for at least 21 days and will pass this information on if requested.  This could help contain clusters or outbreaks.

In order to simplify things we will no longer be charging a studio fee.  The price you see is the price you pay.

For the time being we will not be serving refreshments, and ask you not to bring food or drink into the studio with you.  We hope to review this very soon.

We will not be providing aprons – you may bring your own, but we find that people do not usually make a mess with the paints, and should you get paint on your clothes, our pottery glazes are all water soluble and wash out easily in a normal wash.

We have temporarily removed our stamps and sponges, and our rummage box of free stickers.  Stickers of letters are available to buy.

At the end of the session please leave all of your pottery and equipment used in the box provided on the table.
